Scavenger Hunt for Engagement Ring Goes High-Tech
ByA scavenger hunt is going high-tech in Florence, South Carolina, as more than 200 couples comb the downtown streets for a $12,000 diamond ring.
To celebrate its 75th year of business, Galloway & Moseley Fine Jewelers planted the ring for one lucky couple to find. All clues and challenges are delivered to couples through text messages, and each one will lead one couple closer to the diamond ring. Organizers say that once the game kicks off at 10 a.m., teams will be sent sprinting around Florence after receiving the text messages. When the event is complete, Galloway & Moseley will hold a celebration event for all couples involved.
To participate in the game, couples must submit their love stories to the official Galloway & Moseley website. The couples selected to participate will be handpicked by Galloway & Moseley.
The lucky winners might want to store the ring in a wired jewelry box that is also a digital picture-frame. The IVY CARAT jewelry box has a small 2″ video screen and a speaker. It allows for uploading pictures, video, and audio through a USB cable that charges the system before playback.
